We really enjoyed seeing the countryside and small villages along the way--the way the locals really live in northern Ireland. we had been to the cuaseway and wanted to catch a ferry the next day in Larne. This location was perfect but it was the absolutely breathtaking scenery and the stop and smell the roses village attitude that had us hooked. Even our hard to please teens were hooked. They enjoyed communing with the local sheep and sheep dogs. Also it really helped that wifi was available in their rooms so they could show their disbelieving friends via webcam the scenery and sheep out the window. Our hosts were amazing and had a pot of tea on the boil on our arrival and held breakfast for our son for over an hour. They even called ahead to the local restaurant to not close the kitchen and await our late arrival. they had us at "Hello and Welcome".

It would have been nice to either have a house key, or not have them lock the door. My husband and I wanted to go star-gazing later that night and couldn't because the door was locked and we didn't feel comfortable asking or perhaps even waking anyone up for access. It was no biggy but it is something to think about.

I liked the warmth and helpfulness of the owners. I liked the scenic location, the varied breakfast and comfortable room. The interaction with the owners was just right, leaving us the freedom to come and go as if we were in our own house.

olive and james are probably the best hosts of any b&b i have stayed at, and i have stayed at many, they go over and above the call of duty, just a great place to stay, views to die for. I highly recommend Cullentra House to any visitor to this area, you will not be disappointed, 10 out of 10 for this venue

Very friendly, helpful hostess who made our stay very enjoyable.

Absolutely nothing - would strongly recommend this accommodation.

    Superb

The owners were very helpful and the house was clean and comfortable. Cushendahl is very small but they were able to help us with dinner plans. It was a very pleasant stay.

It was a bit difficult to find the house. We asked for help in town, but it still was not easy to find.

    Very good

We stayed for one night. Owner and husband are most pleasant and obliging. We were served tea and cake on arrival, and we later took up their offer to drop us in their own car into Cushendall (about 2 kilometers away) so that we could go for a meal in Joe's Upstairs (excellent) and drinks afterwards downstairs (great craic), and collected us after midnight when we rang them. Breakfast was very good.

We had looked beforehand for an ensuite room but there was none available. However the bathroom was across the hallway, so it was not a major problem. I couldn't manage the bed-side light which works on a touch basis, but my wife says I wasn't doing things right.

    Fabulous

Stayed just one night at this b & b situated in a quiet location just outside the town. A very large bungalow with rooms both en-suite and with shared facilities. A warm welcome by Olive and her husband who quickly served us with tea and homemade cake. (Olive even gave us the rest of the cake on our departure.) Comfortable double room - but only a double bed rather than a kingsize which we have become used to! Help and advice on places to visit and a great recommendation of the local gold club for evening meal. Olive even provided a "taxi service" for us so that we could sample the local brew! A good breakfast and a warm farewell.

Not too keen on the laminate floors in the bedrooms - a bedside rug of some description would make it more comfortable. A very minor point but we like a carpet in the bedroom.

The landlady is extremely nice (she suggested and booked a nice and quiet restaurant for the evening), breakfast is good and filling, the view from the b&b is stunning and there's a free Wi-Fi connection! Go for it ;)

    Exceptional

We loved everything about our stay at Cullentra House. Olive and James treated us as honoured guests. They provided absolutely everything we needed and everything we could have wanted. Olive seemed to sense our needs before we did. She is a very caring person. We have never been made so welcome in accomodation in our 6 months of travelling in the UK and Europe. Everything was spotlessly clean and the food absolutely delicious. There were so many little extra personal and friendly touches to the hospitality shown. With this wonderful experience Olive still maintains very reasonable rates. We could not recommend this hotel highly enough. Thank you Olive for the highlight of our journey. We will never forget your wonderful care. PS. We booked the shared bathroom option but were given the ensuite at no extra cost.

There was nothing we could dislike. We had a wonderful time.

The owner was extremely helpful and even took us to a local event by car so we wouldn't have to use a taxi and came and collected us too! Which was above and beyond the call of duty. Wonderful, friendly and warm - would highly recommend.
